I just installed my custom cam, 228/236, .540/.545 on a stock short block with tw heads. The car turned over fine, crank it up and ran like a champ. Until I went WOT to redline, now I'm replacing 8 intake valves. What ever you do, don't preload the lifters cause they will pump up at high rpms and then you will be replacing valves. Oh well live and learn.

The correct answer is no-one knows. You will have to try the clay method to make sure.
