First off I am wiring illiterate.

Now that that is out of the way, I want to wire up my Mark VII fan to a three position switch. I want an off function, low speed function and high speed function. In fact, if you don't think it will be a problem, I might just want a low speed operation all the time, and high speed when I flip a switch. Is there an overriding feature builtin to this fan to allow for this?

What size fuse should I run inline with this setup?

My pep boys fan controller bit the dust, but the car got to the point where the overflow was boiling over. Once the car started getting hot, it wasn't being run, just idling while I tried to figure out why the fan wouldn't kick on. Then it started to boil over a minute or two after I was under the hood. Do you think I hurt anything?
