I purchased a Wilwood big brake kit 6 piston front/ 4piston rear for my 91 coupe. However it does not have an e brake and I do like to drive my car on the street a lot. What are people doing for this? I've done quite a bit of searching but so far it's looking like my best option may be a hydraulic line lock for the rear brakes?

Any input is appreciated. Thanks

Is your car an automatic or manual.

An "E-Brake" is really just a Parking Brake (which most people don't even use anyways).

If your car is an automatic, the trans has a parking pawl that locks it in park. I wouldn't worry about it.

If your car is a manual, and you live in a very flat part of Texas, I wouldn't worry about it either.

I live in a mountainous region, and I only use my parking brake if I'm on a really steep incline on my Scout II. I also use a block on a tire.

A parking brake is only to keep the rig from moving if it "pops" out of gear.

Hummmmm. I guess you never let your car sit while it is running. Must be nice to live where there are no hills.
Hell, my drive way is a 8% grade and i live in IL.

Doesn't parking brake reset rear brakes as well on some setups?

I live in a place where there's big hills. You can call them mountains if you want.

As for the automatic, if that parking pawl breaks, then you'd need a transmission rebuild because you would have no park.

The OP never stated whether he had an auto or manual.

And most of Texas is so flat, you can see your dog running away for three days.

It came off a 2000 gt and my car is a manual. That hydraulic line lock was what I was thinking of doing
