Yeah - I know that if economy was important, then I wouldn't be hotrodding. Humor me... I have an NA 306 EFI motor with AFR165 heads, 10-1 CR, 70mm TB, 80mm MAS, FTI cam with a 2500-6000 power band.

Question: would a stock cam and 5-6 lbs of boost give better 2-2.5K cruising economy than my current setup? I know that bad mileage would still be just a heavy foot away, but theoretically...would it do better than a 300hp/315tq NA setup?

thanks

Mark

Interesting enough my old NA combo was the one that got the best mpg. But each combo did not have drastic differences in mpg so it never was a huge worry of mine. If I were building a mustang and really cared what fuel costed me, I'd build it to run on E85 and just deal with whatever mpg I got via using the cheaper fuel. Either that or I'd figure out someone to cram a big diesel in there like that fake GN out in Cali did.

short shifting my DIY TT, I got 21 mpg around town. Can't beat that with a stick. Stock cam in there.
