Doesn't even seem possible it has been almost 3 years since I got the car down the track. I went to an 1/8th mile track yesterday. Got 3 runs in (time slips below). Off the trailer it went 5.789 @ 121.93 and spun pretty bad with a 1.38 60-ft. Best one was the 2nd pass with a 5.654 @ 121.77 and a 1.273 60-ft. 3rd pass was a 5.667 @ 121.12 and a 1.272 60-ft. Race weight is 2800 lbs.

Funnest thing for me was explaining no nitrous and only 363 n/a. Didn't have time to get any clutch tuning in so there is certainly more in her.

It was good to get back to the track. Need to get to a 1/4-mile track before it snows.

Wow man you are flying with that setup no doubt. What changes since you were last out? Looks like you picked up a bunch.

there is a good summary on my web site under 'recent updates'.

freshened heads, upped compression from 13.8 to 15.1, swapped 26 tires with 28, and took some weight out (2997 to 2800).

Time to install a parachute. Anything 150mph and up requires a chute. You don't have to use it, but it must be on the car.

Very nice Marc! I was just wondering about you the other day. Glad to see you got the car back out. Did you see NMRA is going back to Gateway next year? I think your car might fit nicely into the new Modified Street class. Maybe I'll see you there.

Hey Darin. Yes, a bunch of us are planning on getting our cars there (May I think). Good to hear from you. Trying to get to a 1/4 mile track still this year. Maybe Beach Bend before it snows.

Always a good feeling when someone walks up on the pits, looks under the hood and says "I thought it was a big block?"

Even better feeling is when you answer the question, "who built the motor"-and you can honestly say "I did".

Have to give credit to George Bergmann my local engine builder extraordinaire for assembling the short block and heads to survive these high rpms. Honestly they have always been "black boxes" to me. I do set up my own suspension though. Need to get to a 1/4 mile track to see if the 5.14's and new 28" tires (always ran 26s) are putting me through the traps at the right rpm. It should be very close.
