Recently I've been looking for a bonafide, as close to stock as possible rear wheel dyno of a Foxbody as a base reference point. I did several google searches and looked at dozens of dynos that have been posted on probably as many website and forums. The results were questionable.

Then I remembered the 5.0 Ford Dyno Tests book by Richard Holdener from back in 2000 that was on the shelf in my library of magazines and car books.

Turns out I had the information I'd wanted all along. And in a book, not online....go figure. I thought I would post it in case someone else ever went looking for a documented all original chassis dyno for a stock Foxbody.

The information was cherry picked form a larger test about the effect of a short belt. This data is the "before" run with the belt in place. Side note, the short belt was only worth 1-3 hp and 3-4 ft-lbs at most. Hardly worth it IMO.

Car details: 1993 GT all stock except for Flowmaster mufflers, 15 degrees timing and a cone filter replacing the stock airbox. Everything else is stock. Everything! All accessories were present.

rpm / hp / torque
2500 / 117 / 245
2800 / 136 / 255
3000 / 150 / 263
3300 / 165 / 262
3500 / 175 / 263
3800 / 188 / 260
4000 / 195 / 256
4300 / 199 / 243
4500 / 201 / 234
4800 / 203 / 222

5300 / 193 / 192
5500 / 182 / 174
5800 / 163 / 148

Avg / 176 / 247 (2500-5000 rpm)

I don't have my sheet anymore but I had a 1993 Gt with over 200,000 miles off road dumps ported lower and advanced timing made 205 rwhp

So far no "Totally Stock" numbers yet but I have seen them do around 185hp and 260tq on a chassis dyno for an actual off the showroom floor "Totally Stock" Fox Mustang.

manual or automatic?
I pulled the book out and reread the chapter looking for confirmation, but no luck. Given the aversion to the AOD 20 years ago, I'd feel safe assuming those numbers were from a 5 speed car.

I should go to my magazine library. Might find a truly all stock dyno from "back in the day". I have most issues of MM&FF, Superford and 5.0 Mustangs and when the last two merged. All starting from around 1990/91.

My bone stock 1993 Cobra (17,000 miles at the time) made 232.94 HP and 283.68 TQ SAE on a Dynojet back in 2012. This was supposed to be my baseline before I started to mod the car. Needless to say other than a bolt on exhaust, it has remained unchanged.
