Anyone in here drag a tire trailer behind their SN95 chassis stang? I just bought a Haul Master 1090 Lb. Capacity 40-1/2" x 48" Mini Utility Trailer from an autox-er friend of mine. I was curious about how different people set up their trailers. I have a class 1 hitch coming from another guy I found on Craigslist and the trailer was assembled yesterday. If I extend the width of the trailer in front of the wheels a little bit, I can fit all 4 tires (275/35/18) across. I want to mount a lockable toolbox (plastic one that you may see in the bed of a truck) on the trailer too. Looking for ideas on the best way to mount the tires securely to the trailer.

Post your pics or suggestions.

Thanks

This was mine....WAAAAAY back in the day. It's been sold off to 2 or 3 different region members since I had it and as far as I know, still going strong.

It was one of those Harbor Freight cheapie deals that I rigged up some round bars going across to stiffen it and be able to get 4 275/17's on. In the pic below, I had the stacked all at the back of the trailer(2 on each side), and a huge plastic ActionPacker from WALMART mounted to the front that held my crap. For the price, it did a great job.

I recognized that thing has a harbor freight special as soon as the picture came up!

...and 'rigged' is the right word! ...what are those, u-bolts that you drilled through the frame? that's awesome! :)

Yea....I can see your jealousy is flowing quite well. ;) It survived many...MANY trips to Nashville, TN and I thing a couple times to Lil' Talladega.

I had a big/tall Go Kart flag on the back of it, too! I couldn't see the trailer behind the car so that flag let me know it was still back there. :)

Now these things say that they are not to exceed 55mph. How are they pulling at 75mph? Do they bounce alot or are they pretty stable? I don't know anywhere around here that has a 55mph speed limit. 60 - 70 here.

For me it may have to be an LSU flag or the Rebel Flag. Nah... It would probably get vandalized with the rebel flag.

The flag(s) double as stabilizers to settle the trailer down at 75mph

You could always put a ricer-wing on it for downforce!

...better watch it, the politically-correct-police might be upset at the rebel flag

That would be sweet! A triple decker wing hanging off the back of the trailer. **Warning: Downforce caused by excessively large wing may exceed weight rating of trailer!***

It took many trips over 80mph. Thats all i'll say. Well, that and it was stable with the tires/box on it.

here is a pic of mine (will be for sale soon! )

I fab'd a couple of brackets and welded them to the sides of the trailer so that I could line my tires up.
I use my jack handle to run thru the center of the wheels (you can see the yellow jack handle in the pic below) and it actually locks into the brackets to secure the wheels to the trailer.

i can get some better pics this weekend (weather permitting)

Websense sux!! I need to wait till I get home to see the pics. I am going to be finishing up my trailer this weekend. Hopefully my hitch makes it here by tomorrow... but with my past record in shipping, it will be here in two weeks.

Thats what I want mine to look like. Just want a bigger box on the trailer for tools. Nice ride.
