Anyone read 5.0 Mustang this month? Its got an article on a TB spacer from Paul's High Performance. They dyno'd 10rwhp and 10rwtq (lb-ft) out of this thing across the entire rpm band (except for below 3000, which was about 5 for both). Is that thing for real?

Anyone have opiniions on this thing?

I know on my old Dakota RT a TB spacer was just reason to get laughed at. They may have worked on old carb setups, but I didn't think they worked on new stuff. Maybe it was just my RT that they wer NFG on.

Let me know.

Someone on this board dyno'd that thing recently and gained a massive 2 HP and an equally lame amount of torque. Even if it was worth a crap, you could make one yourself much cheaper.

I might try emailing 5.0 magazine about that...

The car they did this on made 250rwhp BEFORE. It had headers, TB, and an H pipe I think. nothing major.

If it provides that much power for such little spacing, why not move the TB out all the way to the MAF. For that matter, why not make a MAF/TB combo unit? Wait...could that possibly defy the laws of physics and work? Hmmm.....
