I am experiencing a problem with my steering system. for some reason it seems to put a great deal of strain on my vehicle when accelerating with the wheel turned. It makes a lot of squeaking (like the tire chattering on the ground, the shocks squeaking) and also sometimes when i take off with the wheel turned all the way to the left, the car makes a tapping sound like metal on metal that seems to come from the transmission. that sound only happens at very slow speeds and when the wheel is turned all the way. Am I just having steering problems? Has anybody had problems like this? I feel like my poor car is falling apart! Hopefully somebody can help.
thanks for the help.

Have you checked all your K member mounting bolts (and transmission mounts just for the heck of it since you mention that the sound seems to come from transmission area some times). Do you have headers, or different wheels tires from stock? Mentioning these can help other people figure out what sort of problem you are having.
