I've been side tracked due to our move but I'm now ready to do final assembly and finish the handle. Still a little to go but I thought I'd update.

Also nearly done with a damascus axe with bloodwood handle and another stick tang knife for a member of another forum. I'll have pics of those two projects later.

For the folder I made the blade and the sides but the lock and spring pieces were purchased as I don't have a mill to do the work properly.

axe is damascus steel with a blood wood handle. Obviously not finished but not far from it.

Very nice craftsmanship. You forge the metal yourself I assume?

All my own forgings though the folder at the top I had to purchase the locking mechanism for it as I don't have a mill and haven't done one before. Almost exclusively by hand as well.

The axe was my first attempt to make this fireman's axe. This is the second attempt. The shape is fine but the head size wasn't to my liking. I'm moving so I'm trying to "clean out the closet" so to speak.
