the cost for my rebuild seems to be shooting up, and im sure i will be at 7500 before i know it, so im thinking of picking up a new cobra crate from ford.

Then selling my engine, ported intake and all, for like 750-800 and picking up a cobra crate for 7500.

then some computer and wiring harness, and we are good to go.

btw, how high does the new cobra spin rpm wise?

I think it only goes to 6000.

I'd think a cobra crate engine and harness, etc, would cost you at least that much.....

The '03 cobra engine redlines at 6500 rpms,300 lower than the'99/'01 engines.

dude where are you coming up with your prices for the rebuild? your way off the mark....i dropped my car off at houston performance and they did everything and it only cost me 6300. and that was with a new clutch, valve job, walbro intank pump, steeda triax shifter, and a couple of other things....they sell their short blocks for 2900......where are you getting 7500 from?

That would be quite a bargain, used cobra motors on ebay are going for 1000+. There's a 96-98 cobra moor on there with a t45 with the current bid price over 2100$!!

50000mile cobra engine, 1900$!!

A relative bargain it seems:

Oh my, a 2003 motor, here is your chance! As I type this the price is 3500$ with no reserve. That is a freaking steal considering that the 2001 engines are $6500 and above!
