Strap a snow shovel to the front of your car. Drive South. When someone asks "what's that on the front of your car"? It's safe to retire there.

Global Warming
https://www.nationalgeographic.com/environment/global-warming/global-warming-overview/

We often call the result global warming, but it is causing a set of changes to the Earth's climate, or long-term weather patterns, that varies from place to place. While many people think of global warming and climate change as synonyms, scientists use “climate change” when describing the complex shifts now affecting our planet’s weather and climate systems—in part because some areas actually get cooler in the short term.
... just sayin :)

Bother you drink all the Kool-aid you want. My book says when the Temple is rebuilt so GOD can tear it down I might should start worrying but till then I'm good.
Its pretty clear that we are experiencing erratic weather patterns and the average temperature of the earth is increasing. We can debate why all day long but it is happening. P63 did not say to be afraid. Most folk are ignorant as to the definition of Global Warming. I think he was trying to help you out as to what the term means exactly. Here is what Nasa's book says in terms of defining the word.

its whatever the sun decides

nothing has the effect on earth's climate as the sun does, think solar flare activity

everything on earth, is a result of that, otherwise this place would be a frozen globe

If you're saying that an event such as the sun going nova would be the dominant factor on the weather, then ya, I agree with that.

no not nova

its normal changing in activity and intensity

atmospheric C02 has always lagged temperature

I wonder how the earth came out of a few Ice Ages without the "help" of man? It had to be global warming or climate change. How could that happen without man-kinds evil influence?

I don’t think the scientific supporters of GW dispute the historical fluctuations of the Earth’s weather and temperature. Rather I think they are focusing on the rapidity of the current shift.

Pretty sure this thread just gave me an aneurysm.

I'd be interested to know how you reconcile this theory with the fact that the second planet from the sun is hundreds of degrees hotter than the closest planet to the sun. There are several variables that can have an effect on climate and average global temperature. The sun is one of them, and the sun has been in a slight cooling trend for decades despite our average global temperature increasing.

That and satellites with orbiting carbon observing laboratories that study the ocean, the atmosphere, snow and ice, carbon and energy cycles, and as of next year, a geostationary observatory that will measure carbon dioxide, methane, and carbon monoxide 10 million times per day.

And this is in addition to their growing collection of graphs, studies, and, you know, evidence...cited and sourced.

In a completely natural cycle, yes. But we're no longer in one.

CO2 Lag ? OSS Foundation

"When the Earth comes out of an ice age, the warming is not initiated by CO2 but by changes in the Earth's orbit. The warming causes the oceans to release CO2. The CO2 amplifies the warming and mixes through the atmosphere, spreading warming throughout the planet. So CO2 causes warming AND rising temperature causes CO2 rise. Overall, about 90% of the global warming occurs after the CO2 increase."

historically, nothing from the norm
This is categorically false.

Greenhouse gasses and Temperature moved in lock-step through the Pleistocene Ice Ages, controlled by Earth's orbit around the Sun (Centre for Ice and Climate, University of Copenhagen). Arrows show where levels were a few years ago, on the same scale.
