hey guys like to see what you guys think about a tranny ive got an 1969 camaro z28 i took the ls2 and turbo 350 trans out and sold it.. im a ford guy but love the look of the camaro.that ls2 would barely spin the tires but i have the 306 engine allready bolted down what trany should i use a turbo 350 or a c-4 the motor is built by myself its a 306 11.5 to 1 compression with canfield heads an a .576 lift and 308 duration camshaft with a super victor intake and a 750 holley dp on the engine dyno i made 432 hp and 472 torque (should be plenty for that camaro) its got a 9inch ford with 4.30 gears so let me know what you guys think

I'm a die hard Ford guy but with that said, you are taking a huge step backwards going from a LS2 to a Ford 306. If your LS2 couldn't spin the tires, you had something very wrong.

A 306 N/A making that kind of power is going to be very radical, poor drivability and fuel milage. It will probably need some type of higher octane fuel as well.

You could get that kind of power from an LS2 with ease while keeping some street manners and fuel milage on simple 93 octane all day long.

As I said above, you took a huge step back IMO.

well i allready had this combo dynod and it was on 93 pump gas i duno much bout ls2 motors but i know it had a ms4 texas speed cam or something like that some ls7 heads and somekind of intake it mad 367rwhp and 412 torque but it just didnt pull that hard to me and it would spin tires but just really didnt have that pull factor

You had something wrong. I have friends making well over 400 rwhp with a simple cam swap, long tube headers and a tune with the LS2 based engines.

In the end, its your car bud....... if the 306 is the route you want to go, give it a try.

So you put a SBF into a real Z28, huh... :rofl: I would love to see some pics of said beast, please lets see the engine sitting in the frame rails.

That said, I would go with a C4.

deff something wrong with the LS2 that was in there like said before.. to even compete with a ls2 that 306 would have to be very well built to put down anywhere's close to the power of a LS motor ... my 331 had over 6k in work done to it put down 350rwhp thru a 5 speed ... my new combo .. stock shortblock 6.0 LQ4 heads and cam put down over 400rwhp thru an auto transmission for less then $3000.00 , if not too late get that LS2 back and find yourself a good tuner and you'll be more then happy with it .

the reason i did this is because i live by the quote "if you wana go fast go ford" and i hate say this but if you really put 6k into a 331 and thats all you got that sucks cuz with my 306 ill be around 400rwhp and if i end up putting a tremec in it it will be more than that and the motor doesnt have to big crazy solid roller cam its just a nice small built but built righ motor

and no i dont have the engine anymore its in a dirt track car and yes something was wrong at birth i was smart enough to realize chevy power = no power

how big is that texas speed ms4 cam anyways? it hit i nice liitle lick just didnt have any power

no its no joke, but its kinda dumb everyone on here thinks its stupid well thats your opnion i dont tell them there stupid for putting a ls1 in a mustang its your car you do with it as you please this is mine im guna do with it and make it my own
