just got my turbo fired up....can def tell it needs a tune bad....not really wanting to pay for two or three tunes or however many it will take...would rather do it my self....

Thinking about going with DIY AUTOtune...what do u guys think

Matt & Jerry are top shelf people. I do a lot of business with DIY, and I've never had a disappointing experience.

got a few questions.....do u set the fuel pressure and timing with your labtop.....if so what does your timing have to start out at on the distrubutor and what fuel pressure is the reg supposed to be set at.....

has anyone ran these set up what you think about them

Fuel pressure is usually set at 39psi with the vacuum line disconnected. The timing when using most tuning software is 10 BDC. The timing curve is then adjusted with the software to whatever you want at different rpm/load ranges.

If I'm running a standalone (Megsquirt/AEM/FAST/etc), then I set my base fuel pressure to 43.5 with the vacuum line disconnected, since this is the fuel pressure that almost all aftermarket injectors are flow rated at. I'll then set my base timing at 10*BTDC and adjust my curve in the software.

Right down the street from me actually. Real nice guys. We have 3 projects we will be using their hardware on at the shop: 1966 460 turbo F250, 1989 S10 395 stroker turbo and a 1989 hatch with a 32v 4.6 turbo. I have seen their software and hardware in person and it it pretty good stuff. Not quite as easy as a plug and play, but for custom jobs it is great!

there is alot to learn about tuning. Matt and Jerry will answer any questions you have. Im just starting to understand but I havnt wired it up in the car yet either. I read and learn a little more everyday

Glad I was just poking fun at you or I would really feel owned!
I assumed you were spelling impaired, like most of the rest of us...

I know of some decently respected aftermarket companies that use the diyautotune stuff in the kits that they sell. They have been pleased with them.
