I finally made it to the track with my 90 GT and after about 5 passes the rear end started making noises turning. I took the car back to the shop and removed the carrier, an Eaton Detroit locker, and it was locked up and would not release. The question I have is who makes a locking type differential to use in the stock limited slip carrier? Do I have to change carriers to and open style that did not come with clutch plates? I still have a stock carrier from the car that I want to use with a locking differential . Trying to get in the 10s

I don't have any help for you, but your post raised some flags for me. I just ordered a Detroit Locker for my 89 and I hope I'm not in for problems.

Is it a new Detroit Locker and what gear oil did you use?

With your rwhp, I'd assume reaching the 10's should be a breeze.
