has anyone out there installed the 3.8 procharger rated at 11 psi w/ aftercooler? The company claims a low 13 sec quarter on a stock automatic car with their kit. The kit, as I understand it, contains the blower, intercooler and your choice of focus svt fuel pps. You are on your own for injectors, FMU chip, custom tuning, MAF sensor, BAP sensor, blah, blah, blah.
Some kit! Just wondering if someone out there has lived this pain yet with good results and what the initial roughly 3500 dollar investment winds up being after it is completed (my guess is around 5 grand).
I would also guess that the powdered metal con rods and beer can pistons also need to be tossed for forged pieces...another $1800 bucks!
Would probably be better off just doing this and a crank to make a 4.2 and throw on some nitrous for the strip nights.

I would go the 4.2 route w/the n20, but thats just my opinion at this point in time. Your motor would hold up for a decent amount of time since it has the intercooler with it. The vortech gets too hot for a stock motor since it doesn't come with an intercooler, and the necessary bends to intercool it would be worthless (its been done by more than one person), and also there is an aftercooler for the vortech, but there isn't a kit to work with the 6 so you'd have to fab up a little piping to get the aftercooler to work. There's always the meth inj system, but thats only temporary.

on my car 99 auto with 3.73 gears, tlok 11psi procharger and drag radial with a 2.0 60ft with 278rwhp and 274rwtq i ran a 13.4. then with better springs, new shocks struts,3k tc and control arms i ran a [email protected](tranny was slipping by this time) had 114k on the car.

with a 5 speed a 12sec pass with drags is achievable

all of this is on a stock block i beat the snot out of the car at the track even before the blower and my best run was a 15.4 with no drags. i just rebuilt a full engine from RPM everything is in it and still a 3.8 havent dynoed it for the blower yet. my old engine is still good with 185 compression all around

Flammingpony ^ Was the slipping of the tranny due to the supercharger or just age? I'm also thinking about supercharging my 2002 converitble with 65K on the clock.
Thanks J.

mine already had a ton of miles on it when the blower was put on plus i raced it alot before the blower. ford autos are very picky and one lil thing can send them to hell. i actually just switched it out a month ago it still ran decent just slipped bad at low rpms
