Anyone pre-planning their next season's mods or events?

Well, since we havent found another site locally for autocross (was an old military airfield but is now a hurricane debris site) I have been planning on attending a few open track events next year. A tire trailer and tow hitch are on the mod list. Also brake ducting, possibly torque arm w/ rear coil-overs, and some engine mods (intake, rockers, and injectors). The first thing on the list is a new MC and brake booster (as mentioned in my other thread).

rebuild my trans and read some tea leaves to see if the motor will keep on living.

Brake ducts for the 99 and thats about it for that car.

Start stripping the interior out of my 87 notch, manaul trans swap, IRS swap, and a bunch of crap from MM. If I even get that far this winter.

Since our last event this year is 12/11 and the first event next year is 1/15, we don't exactly have an "off" season.

In any event, I'll either get around to installing the new front hubs, rack limiters, longer studs, spacers, 10 1/2" wheels and 315's all 'round and get a Torsen, or maybe just buy a new Miata. :evil:

Adding water temp & oil pressure guages (already aquired)
purchasing cheap set of 17" rims for some open track tires
contemplating unloading my saleen chromies
maybe buy a truck so I can trailer my snake to the events. LOL
the car will remain primarily street however...

Oh and already added D-spec struts/shocks...

-Building a 377ci engine.
-Switching back to manual transmission
-Re-do rear suspension chassis side pickups for more adjustability.

Frickin' engine building is expensive...:(

panhard bar (ha ha ha ... i've told my parents for the last three years, "hey, thanks for the christmas money ... i'm going to buy a panhard bar!")

contemplating panhard bar and control arms or a t-arm setup for next year.. race rubber
oh yeah and BRAKES!!!!

my mind's also been toying with the idea of making a front splitter for the car, something along the lines of the 2000 r.
fresh paint would be nice too.

problem is i also have to get the drag truck ready for next seaon as well.. need to do some serious tuning this winter. need time and money.. you all know how that goes..

- Finish ABS install (going at my typical glacial pace).
- Ship car to mainland, move to mainland, get back to the tracks I've been missing for the past 3 years!
- Maybe a new hood / revised front aero.
- Install brake cooling ducts.
- Get exhaust re-done (from H-pipe to X-pipe, and some different mufflers)

I splurged already and got
-MM Adjustable LCAs
-H&R race springs, Bilsteins
- Poly in the front
-aluminum rack bushings
-new rack, power steering cooler
-spherical sway bar endlinks
-solid steering shaft
- 17x9's w/ 275/40 MX's


I just got the car off the stands last night. Stance is awesome and man is it stiff!

I still need to get my corbeaus, an AutoPower 4pt, and some ultra shield padded 6 point harnesses.

-Electric fan
-trying to sort out understeer issues--stiffer springs or play with some sway bars.
-decide on whether to keep 16 x 8 wheels w/245/45-16's or switch to 265/45's. Maybe move up to 17x9's w/255/40-17's??????????(if anyone has input here please advise)
-get the motor tuned

Oh, and my list is just car #1 (Mustang). For car #2 (Subaru)...

- get JDM 5-speed STi Torsen-type front diff installed
- get Cusco "Tarmac Gear" center diff installed (35% front/65% rear torque distribution)
- acquire Quaife rear diff and get installed
- rebuild engine?
- new header/cat combo?

Two "race" cars = twice the money pit!! :D
