3.27's and 26x10 no problems but if i were to run a 28" with the 3.27 prolly would of ran better times! U don't wanna run high gear in a turbo setup for only u might run out of RPM!!! But it all depends on the combo as well i guess!

My Combo:

255 50 R16's
3.55's out back
Stock T5 (####ty ram clutch rated at way less power than the car makes)

Best 60' 1.92 (all stock suspension outback & BF G-Force TA's... they don't stick even after a 30 second burnout.)
best E.T Run: 12.5 @ 118mph
Best MPH Run: 12.7 @119mph

Both times I trapped in fourth around 5600RPM, I think some of this RPM is from the clutch slipping.

I.M.O. If your gonna be racing the car at the track go with at least 3.55's.

I have a 7.5 in rear so my gears are a bit different then the 8.8s but I run a 3.45 gear, stock t-5.

with 225/50/15 (24 in) BFG DRs best 60 was a 1.84 with a easy launch and traped 120mph but had to rev it higher then I would have liked and still ran out of gear on the big end. When driving you can feel how short the gears are. Im DONE by the 1000 ft mark lol

with 255/60/15 (27.1) cheap-o street tire it has the gear to make the full 1320 but its not worth trying due to tires dont stop spinning until 4th lol

with a 26x9.5x15 full slick best 60 was a 1.63 and I must say the gearing seemed perfect. didnt get a "clean" pass as I blew both headgaskets when I missed 3rd and went into FIRST. lol I made a few more passes and the gearing really seemed dead on but the car was way off. trap speed was down to 118-119 and only ran low to mid 12s. found out why on the way home when it overheated and I had a milkshake in the oil lol

car is a bone stock motor and 10 psi... I love the 3.55s but I have a 8.8 with 3.27s waiting for the 7.5 to give up lol

To answer your question appropriately, need to know about your setup. What hp are you shooting for at what rpm, are you running a manual or auto (auto will have conv slip), how much does your car weigh with you in it. Just trying to help. Cheers.

As an example to my questions above, my car weighs 2675 with gas, tools, and me driving it. Running an auto tranny, 3.08 gears, 25.7 tall tires (275/17's), I was hitting the 6000 rpm rev limiter before the finish line at 137 mph. I need to run taller tires or switch to 2.73 gears. Cheers.

I did that with drag radials and it didnt work out too well, lol however when I did it with a full slick it was a rush lol

IF you cant get full spool out of the 2 step it also has a timing retard... pull a few degrees while on the 2 step and it will build more..

3.89 gears 390/45 R15 drag radials.
I plan on dropping down to a 3.50 gear next time I have the rear end apart.

Not having to run crazy gears is one of the beautiful things about a turbo v8.

Still waiting to see a pic of those tires. Sounds awesome.

I use a 28" 325/50 DR and a 3.50 gear.
Pick your gear to trap a few hundred rpm over peak power.
