Before I went to open track my mustang (02 gt, /w bullit front brake and rotor upgrade) Did new rotors and Hawks HPS pads on rear and bleed the entire system with new DOT 4 fluid.

Before the event I noticed a minor squeak with speed from the rear I believe that would stop if i applied any pressure. The front pads were unable to be upgraded to Hawks before the day due to shipping problems with americanmuscle

eitherway,

did about 5 , 20 minute sessions on the course with a 20 minute brake inbetween each, didnt have any trouble until the last run. Pushed the car more into corners was braking harder and started to get some shake from the wheel and the brake light kicking on. ignored it for a bit, got worse, chilled out and was done for the day

So now I drove it multiple miles since and seems like any more than basic pressure the Brake light kicks on, and it seems I get more of a dragging sound than a squeak now... seems like the driver side front has been grooved a little, def has some build up on the rotors.

Any ideas of what to do to fix squeak and shack and light problem

Brake light is probably due to low fluid level. Low fluid level possibly caused by pads being worn.

As MFE said, red light is either low brake fluid level/fluid level switch problem or a parking brake switch problem. Check the system for leaks, but also as the pads wear, the fluid level goes down as the calipers take up fluid from the system.

You already have Hawk pads coming for the front, put them on and retest the car. If the shake's still there, cut the rotors as long as you have enough material left (which you should if the rotors were new). 20 minute sessions with only 20 minute breaks will allow the brakes to cool a little but not all the way, maybe that much heat cycling caused the rotors to warp.

Squealing noise from aggressive pads is common, you can also look at the pads for uneven wear. Squealing that isn't pad compound related is due to movement of the pad in the caliper, some of which is normal and why they use quieting discs or the pad squeal goop stuff. If the rotors are warped, perhaps they're kicking the pads back enough to move them around. Cutting or replacing the rotors would take care of that. You're definately gonna have some pad squeal on a Hawk pad, especially anything more aggressive than HPS.

The shaking/shuttering you're feeling is likely a bit of runout on the rotors from overheating. This is somewhat common on Mustangs.

Or you could pull off your wheels and actually inspect your brakes...
I would but I'm kind of still 3 1/2 hrs away from home , when I get back I will be changin front pads and prolly getting rotors turned, thanks for any info

I open track my ss cobalt same track last year and didn't have a problem so I was a little worried

Probably caused by pad material build-up and not warping.

I think I see material build up on the rotors actually, will it just come off with use or do i have to sand it off or get them turned

Sanding disc on a drill helps but the best way that I have found is just to keep driving the car and after some miles of street driving it will be gone.

Needed fluid light gone
Build up gone, shake gone
Grinding and squeaking.... destroyed front pads and warped rotors

New hawks pads going up front, rotors, and some anti squeak

So you had pad build up, and removing it relieved the shuttering? I find this interesting seeing as you still found warped rotors. Weird...

Good looking out J Rick, never thought about pad build up.

I wish I wasn't so familiar with it but it happens to me frequently.
