this oil pan came with the 408 that i got. i wanted to make sure before i put the engine in that this pan will work ok if i road race the car.

its made by canton but i cant seem to match it with anything they make on their site. still waiting to hear their response.

Thats better then stock, but its not a road race specific pan. There are no crack scrapers on the side and it does not look like there are any trap doors in the rear sump to keep the oil at the pickup during long sweepers. The road race pans are 'T' sumped.

That looks like a 15-670S. 15-694 would be the best pan for road racing..

yea, hmm. i just want to make sure it will be ok before i drop everything in. the only thing i am worried about is header fitment with the T style road race pans. i am running 1 3/4 long tube headers.

I had no problems BBK 1 5/8" LTs with a 5.0 in a Fox Body, but your combo looks to be quite different. List your headers and you might get lucky with someone running the same combo.

it does look like the first one (thats the closest i found) but the front drain plug is in a different location on mine. maybe they just revised it.
