Spark plug for cylinder # 4 a little foweled.

I changed my plugs the other day and all of the old ones looked great except for one. The # 4 plug had a little fowling on it. What does this indicate? The car has 76,000 miles and runs great. Should I be concerned about this?

Don't sound good but usually #4 is not a problematic cylinder. I'd get a compression tester at the local auto parts and at least test the passenger side bank. If #4 is within 80% or so of the other three I wouldn't worry about it.

Interesting. I've meant to have a compression test done. It was a small amount of fowling, just a little on the spark end of the plug. Like I said, the thing runs great. Better now that I replaced plugs and wires.
