Just about finished with my turbo install on my 89 333ci fox. I will be getting a custome tune by Willie at Dirty dirty in a few weeks. I want to fire it up and check it over for leaks etc. Should I set base timing to 10 degrees and put spout back in? Also, everyone says to check the widebank afr gauge, but what exactly am i looking for?

Rest of combo is stock block 333, all forged internals, ported Performer rpm heads, 70 mm tb, Track heat intake, 60# injectors w matching pro tube maf, 70mm turbo, ngks gapped at .028. boost gauge and wideband

I would set base timing a little lower maybe 8 degrees then put spout back in..AFR at idle mine is about 14.7-15.0 thats just a base tho...when driving its lower then wide open its like 11.1 -11.3 if your just checking things you should be ok..just no boost...lol..

Agreed make sure your AFR is good as mentioned above and if for whatever reason you have to move it (out of the garage or whatever) keep it out of boost until you get it tuned.
