Darin Hendricks (Coiled) just destroyed his previous 2016 record pass of 10.20 with this 10.07 at over 130 run during round one of qualifying at the Spring Break Shoot Out this weekend.

Ed, what do you think a sealed LS3 would run in that chassis? With the stock tricks them folks use of course.

gadzooks!
what are the faster guys running for transmissions?
Darin runs an out of the box G-Force 101A.

Drew runs a Liberty TKO

Some have a special G101A box.

What's in the bellhousing is the piece that makes the difference.

The three cars left in the semis were all using Black Magic units.

^^or car/RD/testing... the more restricted the racing the more $ to be competitive.
I don't recall who it was, but back in the day someone competitive(maybe Ed S.), in Factory Stock stated these were among the most expensive machines on the strip.

Any idea what something like this costs to run annually? Ball park?
I can tell you, just as a crew member, it's at least a $1500 weekend just to attend. Flights, rental car, hotel, food, entrance fee and other incidentals.

As for the race car expenses .... if you have to ask, you really can't afford it. :)

When I looked into running Coyote Stock using the Evil Twin, my 401K would be wasted in no time. :p

God bless these guys who do it competitively because heads up racing ain't cheap when you're doing it without a lot of sponsorship help. ($$$$)

and the money if only part of it... its the time off work... the endless hours in the shop... the endless hours looking at data... the hours spent figuring out how to correct said data

A good wife and the racing camaraderie goes a long way. Sometimes I need my but kicked to get out there in the garage myself so the wife can be social with my friends.:wink2: that's what its all about isn't it? Just having a good time.
