Hey guys we are trying to get a DOT streetcar heads up class going at Motor Mile Dragway in Radford VA. There is a total absense of true street car races around here. If you don't run 10.5W Outlaw, Promod or bracket race there is noting for you to do.

We are having a metting for anyone interested in setting the rules and getting this started at the Cracker Barrel in Christiansburg VA this saturday December 17th at 1:00 for lunch. Please come if you can.

Preliminary Rules (not official)



Any full body car or truck that fits these rules may participate

BB nat. aspirated 3000

SB supercharged 3000 up to P-1SC or T-trim
SB supercharged 3300 up to F1R or X-trim
SB turbo 3300 up to 76mm single or twin t3

non stock style suspension 50lb penalty

no aftermarket blocks for BB
no sheet metal intakes
no nitrous on supercharged or turbo cars
D.O.T. tires only
max tire height 28"
max tire tread 11" actual measured
must have upholstered interior and two seats
side windows must roll up and down
glass windows
must have mufflers and exhaust to behind the driver
gasoline only
air to air intercoolers only
no water alcohol injection
front suspention must bolt to factory locations
tubular K-member OK
coil overs OK
no forward facing scoops except from the factory
no holes in the body for compressor inlets
engine can not touch factory firewall
body my not be altered from stock except for hood
fiberglass body panels OK as long as they appear stock
firewall may only be modified for transmission access
must have a cage, helmet, fire suit, 5 point harness
must have long studs on rear
no axles with C-clips still used

Good Luck with it....I just breezed thru the rules. Looks like some good ideas on them...future plans are to hit the local Cruise-Ins here and the local Ford events though. Tired of getting spanked in the 1st rd here...remeber, no how fast you "think" you are...there's always aTon of peeps that're quicker!!...lol

revised rules

EXHAUST SYSTEM
Headers permitted, must exit under the chassis and at least to within 12" of the rear end housing. This includes turbocharged vehicles. Mufflers required.
1. ENGINE SETBACK
Permitted. Must not touch stock unmodified firewall.
FUEL / FUEL CHECK
Gasoline will be the only fuel permitted.
FUEL SYSTEM
Properly mounted fuel cell permitted.
RADIATOR
Front mounted radiator required. Aftermarket electric water pump and fan permitted.

POWER ADDERS
Limited to one power adder type

NITROUS OXIDE
Permitted on any engine. Multi-stage systems permitted. Must be properly installed according to manufacturers recommendations.


FORCED INDUCTION
Turbo size limited to 76mm (Single only, no twins)
Max Supercharger sizes F1 ProCharger or X trim Vortech, Paxton Novi 2000
No Roots style Blowers Unless factory equiped...ex. 03-04 Mustang Cobra
No methanol injection kits

DRIVE TRAIN:
1. CLUTCH
Clutch release must be manually operated by the driver's foot.
REAR END
Heavy duty replacement unit permitted.
TRANSMISSION, AUTOMATIC
Any original or aftermarket transmission permitted. Minimum of two (2) forward speeds and reverse gear mandatory. Any modifications including trans brake permitted. Air or electronic shifters prohibited. Shift mechanism must be driver operated. Neutral safety switch mandatory.
TRANSMISSION, MANUAL
Any original or aftermarket transmission permitted. Reverse gear mandatory. Air or electronic shifters prohibited. Shift mechanism must be driver operated.

All Shifts must be performed by driver (Auto or manual)

BRAKES
Operational brakes required on all four wheels.
1. STEERING
Aftermarket steering in the conventional location permitted.
SUSPENSION, FRONT
Aftermarket shocks, struts, spindles and springs permitted. Coil-over front struts permitted. Tubular K-member and tubular A-arms permitted, must attach to OEM locations.

FIREWALL / ENGINE COMPARTMENT
Stock OEM firewall required and must completely seal the engine compartment from the driver's compartment. OEM front strut towers, radiator bulkhead and inner fender well side panels must be maintained.

STREET EQUIPMENT
Stock OEM sealed beam headlights, taillights

1. WINDSHIELD / WINDOWS
Stock production windshield and windows mandatory. Lightweight replacement windows (Lexan, etc.) prohibited.

DRIVER:
1. CREDENTIALS
Current valid state drivers license required, and if applicable, a valid competition license and chassis certification required, must meet IHRA requirements.

Driver must be on left side of vehicle in conventional location. All applicable safety equipment required.

SANCTIONING BODY RULEBOOKS
All participants must be familiar with and abide by all rules, regulations and procedures defined in the Official IHRA Rulebook, and also any and all applicable SFI Specs, which are made part of the class rules. PROCEDURES
Weather and time permitting, there will be three qualifying sessions permitted. The quickest time will be the official qualifying time. Racers will be paired according to the NHRA Sportsman Ladder. Driver with the quicker ET in the previous round during eliminations will have lane choice, must be established between the drivers prior to going into the burn-out box.

Weight Penalties
50lb Non stock style rear suspension
100lb for back half (either or not both)

WEIGHTS / DISPLACEMENTS:
All minimum weights include driver, measured before a run.

Minimum Weight Power Adder Engine type
2900 pounds Any 4-cylinder or 6-cylinder only.
3000 pounds Any Small block or Mod Motor only.
3400 pounds Any Big Block.

28x10.5 Tires DOT (11 inch max tread width as measured)

Mikey Thompson ET Street up to 28 X 12.50
Mikey Thompson ET Radial up to 325/50/15
BF Goodrich Drag Radial up to 325/50/15
Hoosier Quick Time D.O.T. up to 28 X 11.50
M&H D.O.T. Cheater Slick up to 28 X 12.50

Drag radial 50lb weight break for Radials (Max size of 325x50)

No sheet metal intakes

Back half from back of front seat only
Minimum 2 seats Interior must be finished, carpet from seats forward.
Factory style dash
No forward facing hood scoops or fabricated air inlets unless factory equiped
Must have working lights and signals.
No stickers on body

Intercoolers must be air to air unless factory

Stock body panels, cowl hoods and fiberglass replacement bumpers acceptable.

Single carb

Car must driven from pits to staging lanes
