Just got back from the track, and wanted to see if these times are up to par with the equipment I've got. Here's the quick basics about the car:

90 Notch somewhat gutted, no A/C, rear seats, etc
Stock longblock 302, possibly has a cam, non roller
Holley 4barrel carb
edelbrock 289 intake
shorty BBK headers
W/C T5 with King Cobra clutch
3.55's in an 8.8
Boxed LCA's
BFGoodrich T/A Drag radials @25psi
MSD distributor (14* initial for N/A, 10* initial for 100 shot)
NX wet kit


It was in the 80's for temperature tonight, so it clearly wasn't the best air, but I still managed to get my best times in. After I hit the new N/A best, I backed off the timing, and went for a run with the spray. This is the 8th or so run completely with the car, and the spray run is the first ever spraying through all the gears.

I'm wondering, with the DR's, and since I'm not really having any issues with spinning, why are my 60's so high? I tried holding it around 4-5k and slipping the clutch, and it sure feels good, but doesn't show on the slip it seems. Maybe I need to slip it faster?

I leave at 4500 rpm and my best 60 is 1.67 with bbk upper and lowers with a set of M/t and 15 psi. I run almost the same #s as your100 shot in a full weight Gt vert. Can't go back till cage dam Nhra rules.lol There is something causing your 60 to be off. The ? is what? More rpm on launch and increase rpm until it spins?

I'll try to heat the tires up more, and dump it a little harder. Would removing the front swaybar help me enough to make it worth the work of doing it?

I'm wondering if that intake is hurting me.. It says "Edelbrock 289" on it I believe.. It looks rather small, too. What intake would be good as an upgrade, if any?

you dont need a cage till 11.49 1/4 mile which is 7.40's i belive 1/8 mile.

check my time and mods in my sig for my run on the 75 shot with street tires. agree with everyone that 25psi is way too high for those radials. what are you shifitng at?

18 psi. Try dumping the clutch at 4 then 45 if it hooked. This is on the spray. You might have to feather the clutch without the spray or it will bog.
No need to feather anything (other than your hair):rofl:bad advice from a guy with a C-4. With slicks and 373s, 4500 was perfect it 60d a 1.67
