Well, went to the 1/8th mile last night at Jax Raceways for Midnight Drags. Was very crowded. Managed four runs. None were as good as I wanted cause when I put on the Drag Radials dumb me left the quad shocks off. So I wasn't able to get a good burnout or launch due to wheel hop. Well, here are my times.

First run:

R/T: .518
60 ft: 2.269
330 ft.: 6.210
1/8 ET: 9.497
1/8 MPH: 75.62
Raced and beat a Z28. :joy: Guy couldn't drive

Second run:

R/T: .507
60 ft: 2.283
330 ft.: 6.223
1/8 ET: 9.521
1/8 MPH: 75.37

Third run:

R/T: .670
60 ft: 2.228
330 ft:6.112
1/8 ET: 9.334
1/8 MPH: 76.39
This run is my new best in ET and MPH.

Final run:

R/T: .454
60 ft: 2.376
330 ft:6.705
1/8 ET: 10.089
1/8 MPH: 73.52
On this one I misshifted second.

Not too bad of a night but I think I have the MPH to get in the high 8's. What do ya'll think?

You have the capability of running a low (9.2ish) time. You need to work on the launch and soon you will be in the 8's

Keep it going

During your burnout are both tires spinning enough to get heated up good. What gear are you doing the burn out in. If not second, try it one time but bring your rpm's up to about 4000 and while holding the brake and the gas dump the clutch and hit the tire pretty hard and they will both start spinning right off the bat. How much air pressure were you running in the drag radials. When I first started these were afew things that people had helped me with and it really helped alot. Drive it like you stole it, It wont hurt it just makes for a better ET........ Good Luck

Both tires are spinning good. I usually spin 'em for till a good deal of white smoke starts coming out. Usually about 8 secs or so. I was doing a first gear burnout. Should of done a second gear but sometimes my car can't keep 'em spinning. Next time I'll try again with second though. I was running 14 psi in them. They were grabbing pretty well and then spinning a little after the inital grab. Coulda drop the psi a pound or three. Also I slam the gears except the 1-2. Gotta let off a little for that one. Not much though. If I try to shift with the throttle mashed for the 1-2 I always misshift, no probs with the 2-3 though. I just jam it in. Doesn't sound good, a little grinding. On my last run I tried powershifting 1-2 and messed it all up. I need to get a shifter. Also, I was chirping the tires on the 1-2 and 2-3 shift. Also here are my latest times as of today.

Go with a drop in air pressure but not below 12psi if you are not running tubes and screws thru the wheels.T ry a second gear burn out and win the car trys to drop rpm's give it a little more gas it is just then heating up good enough to try to hook. Watch for the white after it starts roling out from under the car pretty good try to get a good 5 seconds more out of it if it. I think this ought to do away with your second gear chirp if you are spinning the wheels you are loosing ET.

Should be more than enough to crack into the high 8.9x's area. My vert went a 8.92 in the 1/8th to run the time below.

Not yet, that run was on Tuesday. Sat. night I am going to try running 12 psi in the Drag Radials and do a better burnout. Thanks for all the info. Also was wondering what length belt to run to bypass the smog pump and power steering.

went out again

Went to Jax Raceways again and did the bracket racing. I did two time trials and then was eliminated in the first round.:( I was able to do a good 2nd gear burnout and also I lowered my tire pressure. I ran on 12 psi to start with then dropped it down. I was still chirping third so I dropped it down to 10.5 psi and didn't hardly chirp 3rd at all. I also got my first sub 2.0 60 ft times and a new best in the 1/8th. Now I just need to get better with my reaction times with this new setup. Also, I am launching about 3 grand with some spin. I should probably lower my launch rpm a little. Here are my times:

R/T: .721
60 ft: 2.065
330 ft: 5.876
1/8 ET: 9.074
1/8 MPH: 76.80

R/T: .623
60 ft: 1.966
330 ft: 5.779
1/8 ET: 8.967
1/8 MPH: 76.90
----------------------------Guy I ran against in first round and lost to.
Dial In: 8.90-------------Dial In: 8.52
R/T: .619----------------R/T: .534
60 ft: 1.957--------------60 ft: 1.805
330 ft: 5.749------------330 ft: 5.482
1/8 ET: 8.925-----------1/8 ET: 8.593
1/8 MPH: 77.31---------1/8 MPH:78.40

This race I lost due to reaction time. I was closer to my Dial in but
he had me with a better reaction time. Oh well, just more reason to go to the track to practice.
