Helping my friend tune his quarter horse for the E85.

Combo is
Stock forged 302 shortblock
F-cam
Head studs
Felpro 9333 head gaskets
Fresh Gt40 heads with new crane beehive springs
1.7 cobra pedestal rockers
Edelbrock 5.0 performer intake
60lb injectors
on3 turbo kit with 76mm ceramic ball bearing turbo

Had it out yesterday. We have 26° total in @2000 RPM and back down to 18° total @3500-16000. Pulls like crazy with the Lambda at about .83, going to try getting that down to about .75 Lambda. Keeping an eye on the Injector DC, we were only at about 70% yesterday at 5900 RPM.

Only about 10# of boost. Cracking the block not withstanding, how much timing can we put into this thing with E85 at 10PSI?

Well we cranked in another 3 degrees under boost to a total of 21 and the MPH picked up from 121 to 124. Crank stayed in the block and the head gaskets are still intact.

Needs a transbrake and more stall. 2000 on the footbrake leads to 1.86 60ft times.

I honestly don't see why you couldn't throw another 3-4 degrees at it if it's on corn, that stuff is like race gas. But you're probably rapidly approaching the limits of that block as it is.

I wanted to go another 2-3 degrees but my buddies wife was tired of being the the track. We have no love for this short block

Maybe next time.
