Need opinions on T408 street car.

Hey guys, finally itching to get back in the game with my new stang build.
Have a 408 that im dropping the compression down from the 10:5:1 that it is at NA. Box stock Vic Jrs, currently a TFS #3 cam, and TFS intake.
The car is going to stay a stick, street car. At best ill try and get it to a strip once or twice a season, full exhaust etc, other then that ill daily it around town/ weekend machine. Not looking to set the world on fire, 700 to the tires would be great, or there abouts, and get it done without spinning over 6000rpm? Im not running anything special for a block on this build, so thats a factor in my HP goals. What would you guys suggest, or have ran for twins that will give great reponse with a stick, on the street, without the rpm range that a civic has to work with. I was thinking a couple 60-1's, or something like that. But really dont know for sure. I know hot a/r is key on making it work, which is why i dont want to take stabs in the dark. :joy:
Thanks guys, cant wait to get posting when the build gets going!

For simplicity sake, go with a single. If you want 700hp and will not need anymore go with a 76mm. t-6 with a 1.32 A/R. Will be cheaper than a twin set up. See link below for another member with a similar set up.

If your set twins an keeping it a stick, then twin 60-62mm turbos would work. Just make sure you have 3" or bigger down pipes. Any thing less and you will create a lot of back pressure and will limit power quickly.

Appreciate the thoughts sb460. Im not set on needing to run twins by any means, just figured with such a small range of rpm and cubes that it might be more efficient? But if i could run a 76 on my motor without choking it off that might be real decent, other then trying to work that 5" DP to real exhaust. Im not looking to set the world on fire by any means, just want a real responsive setup that will work with a stick. As much as i realize autos are better for boost, id still like to be able to bang gears in this car.

Borg&Warner 76 will do you great with this. Cheap, responsive, and rated to 1100hp so everything you want to do. Keep your rpms 6000 and under like you said you were going to do and will have no issues. To build boost just add a 2 step in activated by your clutch pedal and will have a boost build launch and when shifting keep your foot on the gas and when you push the clutch in it will keep the boost up between shifts. Can always have on a togel switch so can cut the 2 step off when just normal driving around. Set 2 step for around 4-4500rpms or is just for launching around 3000rpms to start and can go higher as needed. I use mine (but with auto) at 3800 rpms.

Awesome stuff so far guys! That twin setup is sexy, and I'm sure I could make a big single work if I Y'd the DP to 2 3" to weasel it past the k member. Lord knows a 5" won't do it. So much to think about... The pipe work will be about the same either way, so I'm not too worried about one over the other. Didn't realize I could go down to a 76mm, but I suppose it's all in the hot side.
