Any cam in the low 220's on duration and low 500's on lift. I would be willing to bet money that a stock 5.0 cam and 1.7 rockers would be very close to any cam below 5800 rpm in hp. Since it is a stick car I would keep it as small as I thaught I could. Bigger than stock cams always seem to make a stick car lazy will driving stop light to stop light in traffic. Just my opinion I am no expert.

F cam is good for 302. If you have not done the 347 yet ..... DONT.
Just rebuild it has a 302 with an F cam and some good heads.
You will easily break the block with that combo. Hit 500rwhp at 12psi or so.

6,000.

For your wants.

you need 302 with stock crank, forged rods and pistons
TwistedWedge Track Heat, AFR 185 or similar head
F cam with Holley Sys-II intake with a 67-70mm turbo.

Pull hard to 6,000 rpm, idle nice with little bit of thump
make 500rwhp at 12psi or so.
