I am just finishing my 347 build and am having clearance issues with the valve cover and throttle body. So I am going to put a .5in spacer between the upper and lower intake to get the clearance.

Which brings me to my question- will a MM STB clear an Edelbrock Performer intake with a .5in spacer?

I really don't want to lose the STB even for a little while, but I am having a heck of time finding a stock height valve cover that will clear the rockers without removing all the baffling. Not to mention that I like the valve covers that are on the motor now. But I also chose the suspension parts on the car specifically to serve a purpose on the car and I would hate to lose any part of that combination.

So, thoughts/ideas/comments?

If we're talking about a Fox car, should be no problem at all. I have a 1 inch spacer on my GT40 tubular manifold and it's not even close to the STB. MM's design has the STB bars away from the manifold itself so I'd have a hard time believing that any manifold would cause an issue. Couldn't comment on an SN95 though.

Trick Flow stock height valve covers. I have them on my 347 over a set of 7/16 stud Harland Sharp rockers with zero clearance issues, with a TFS R intake and no spacer. I did have to trim the TV cable mount off the throttle cable bracket, but that's pretty much it. I do have an EGR delete plate so the TB is moved inward some.

my problem with the MM STB is it sits right on top of my plug wire boots on the dizzy, and the current actually arcs into the STB making my car RUN like crap!

so i havnt tried putting it on in years,

so i wrapped an 8inch section of the STB with pipe insolator, another thing im debating is buying the ford oem rubber boot for the dizzy but the brace is so close to the wires it wont fit, (i guess ill have to use some washers and raise the brace up a bit)

DAMNIT! i knew it!!! he sold me the wrong ONE! that fool this #### is for a carbd 302 i thinkg DAMNIT!!!

Just to clarify, I wasn't trying to be a smartass. Your description sounded just like how the EFI MM STB doesn't fit with a 351.

What am I missing here? I see that MM offers two different versions of the STB for Foxes, one for carb'd cars and one for EFI cars, but I don't understand why. Wouldn't a carb'd 302 have the distributor in the exact same spot as an EFI 302, so it would have the same interference that EscortSportage is seeing? Color me :confused:!

The. Bends r different on the efi. Plus the carb dizzy is tiny

Put convertible style or 94/95 style motor mounts on it.. not a bad idea anyway and it will probably fix the problem.

just ordered the efi stb from MM ill post pics whenever it comes in...

Interested to see what happens.. the Carb dizzy is essentially in the same place, I guess it might be a little shorter. I have an old core laying in the garage I'll look at next to an EFI distributor.
