Will this fan install in our cars using the 3 wires that feed the stock fan?

Seems like the stock overflow tank may be able to be used with the MarkVIII, at least that is what I would think from this email and the website showing an install on a Fox body.

I have replied to Steve asking if he knew whether the stock 3 wires will be used without issue and the fan controlled by the EEC just like stock...


I would do the Mark8 fan. You will need to a little massaging to get everything in an fitting. It easier on your car than a Fox body. The fan is $149......................Later

If you get it let us know how it goes.. Pics would be great. I'd like to replace my fan before it catches fire :eek: I can feel a vibration in the car when it runs on high so it's probably getting worn out...

Ordering the parts

I will keep you all informed.

First test will be to simply prove the stock sn95 computer will control the Mark VIII fan.

The stock fan is worthless on my car; it's a liability. :mad:

Yes, the fan matches up just fine on my 95. Best fan money can buy!
(coolant run off replaced by pleastic 16oz A&W rootbeer bottle)

Did you hard-wire the low coolant sensor wires together to disable the "low coolant" idiot light?

I am very happy you confirmed the Mark VIII fan will work like the stock fan with the wires and computer, etc...

1) remove oversized run-off container.
2) Disconnect sensor cable, and leave it dangle. (just the cable; the actual sensor is in the container.)
3) Purchase plastic 12oz A&W bottle
4) insert hose ( you may have to trim it down)
5) duct tape bottle to supercharger. done. W/ no idiot lights

Ok, I can handle #3, but I need to borrow your procharger for #5, that won't be a problem, will it? :D

The Mark VIII fan does appear to work with the sn95 EEC-IV just like the stock fan, and the plug looks like an exact match too (mine burned up).

I will have to move my anti-lock brake mounting back about 3" to make room.

My plan is to mount the fan right-side up and pushed over to the passenger side of the radiator.

Two flat braces will offset to mount to the fan's mounting holes, each about 3" long. The bottom mounting flanges fit snug as if the fan were made for the stock radiator.

The stock overflow tank might be able to be reused (a fox body tank would be better). The tank will be on the driver's side of the fan, opposite its stock position.

I will make a strip of something to cover along the length of the fan's bottom edge, about 3 or 4" in height. This will force air through the radiator only -- completing the shroud.

I won't have to cut the shroud at all, but this would never work with a blower or a fat radiator... the fan is a little close to the crank pulley.

I will keep you all posted.

We had to cut the shroud and use thru-core ties from autozone.
but your way sounds nice too.
