the goat heads are the same thing that comes on the lq4 truck motor but the the gto heads have smaller cc's to give a little more compression...but basicly the 799 heads and the 243 ls6 heads flow about the same with the difference the ls6 243 casting heads have sodium filled valves and the 317 heads that come on the lq4 truck motors have about the same flow as both the 799 and 243 heads but with bigger cc's(72 cc's)....and i got 4.11 type happy,i meant 4.10 for the 8.8....sorry

Just FYI the 243 and 799 heads are the exact same casting. Also not all 243 heads have hollow intake/sodium filled exhaust. Only LS6 243 heads that came on +02 Z06's and CTSV's.

Using your stock K-member is probably doable, but I would not waste my time. I'd just wait until you had an extra $500 and save yourself all the headaches.

i thought thats what i said....lol....i was just giving the jist of it....but i did say ls6 243's i know they used 243's on other motors also....but i'm with you on the k-member,motor plate might be a cheaper option depends on what he's going to use it for.

The only thing i see that he didn't tell, was that the Regal weighed 2600lbs without him in it. Other than that, he gave up all the details. Car hauled ass, alot of it..:king:

How do you like the AJE k member? Do you have to get a different steering shaft for it also? I've got a `93 4 cyl. car that I would like to keep the stock rack and pinion if possible.

i'm about to put manual steering kit on my car....but to answer your question the factory rag joint barely rubs alittle bit of the motor mount area but nothing a sawsall or zisswheel wont handle.....but i'm going to sell me steering shaft and coupler(i put a small one on my car)for the power steering rack if interested.....and im very pleased with the aje stuff....

So if I buy the AJE k member and keep the stock rack, the steering shaft you have will fit with minor modification. It's the right length? How much do you want for it? I thought I read that you have to buy a different steering shaft when using the AJE member. Also if I use the stock manifolds for now, do you know of where I could get flanges to connect the exhaust? I will probably buy headers but just in case if the budget gets too close. I haven't bought anything for the car yet so I would like to plan it all out now so I don't have to redo anything (like that ever happens).

Just LOOKING at my 6.0L manifolds, you can run with a set of standard 3 bolt header flanges. I think the pattern is the same. And remember, people have made OVER 1000rwhp on turbo setups using these manifolds so they DO flow rather well. I can't comment on the fox body fitment with an AJE though as mine is an 94 BUT it did fit with all of my stock steering components but again, they are different.

it will fit just fine with a little modification.....the reason i changed the rag joint was because of the headers i dont know about the stock manifolds....but it looks like it should have plenty of room with the manifolds but if not i'll take $50 plus shipping for my set up....

Since you mentioned it has a rag joint, is it just a stock steering shaft? Will my 4 cyl. steering shaft fit?
stock steering shaft with a aftermarket steering u-joint.
