all right fellas im totally lost on this topic. please explain how to use a two step with a trans brake. i read about people hitting the two step to build boost then the brake to build boost. then i hear about foot brakeing the ?????
im freaking lost. i got a c4 with a brake and a two step. not sure on convertor stall supposed to be a 3000 but i dont know how to tell. i wired my two step on the same switch as my brake as per msd's instructions. i stage, hit the button , mash the gas and wait for the light to turn. is this correct??? cant get better than a 1.7 60 ft. launch seems real tame. hci 302 t70 3.27 28" dr.

? I just use my transbrake. The converter should have whatever stall you ordered. Sounds like you are making things too complicated. How about trying to use one or the other and see how that does. How much boost are ya leaving with?

i have no idea on launch boost. everything is happening so fast i get nervous and havent even looked at my boost guage while launching. i thought leaving on just the brake is bad for the convertor and on just the two step the car has to be foot braked.

I leave on the t- brake that's what it was made for. If you stall it for for 10 seconds or more you start putting a lot of heat in it but you have a trans cooler that will cool it down when ya let go of the button.

Yes, 2 step sets launch rpm. Example, you have a 4400 rpm stall speed fully against the transbrake. You can limit the 2 step from 4400 all the way down to 1000 rpms (Not recommended LOL) if you need to. It gives you a couple things, #1 you save the tranny a little heat if you don't push it all the way against the converter, #2 you can adjust the two step lower if the track isn't hooking very well, and #3 you can use it to help adjust your reaction times if you are red lighting.

For the O.P. with only a 3k rpm converter and a T70 on a 302 engine, you may not have enough stall to really build up a bunch of boost for the launch. Most of the time, I'll see turbo cars getting up real hard on the footbrake in the pre-stage bulb, then bump into the 2nd bulb (on the pro tree) and nail the t-brake and throttle. Doesn't build up quite as much heat in the tranny and gets your boost started.

Something is wrong if your "running out of gear" with your listed 3.27 rear and 28" tire at only 122 mph. Sounds like too much converter slippage. The way you listed is correct, stage...hold the button...mash gas...release button. But, the 2-step should be set only a few hundred rpm less than your converter stall for optimum. You need to know how much converter stall speed you have.

i was running out of gear with a 3.73 gear and a 26" tire. since changing tires and gears the car feels doggy leaving but makes sense now because of not using my electronics correctly. i also have a small exhauts leak pre turbo and from research that makes a huge difference on spool time.

I think that stall is just fine and not the problem. I run a 3000 converter as well and footbraking my car on the 2 step set at 2600 I see roughly 5-7lbs of boost depending on how long I sit on it.

60's are in the 1.58-1.64 range and running 10.89/10.93 at 125-127, and I still have issues.

I'm running 17* timing - 9lbs of boost (67mm) on a h/c/i car as well. You have an issue somewhere that you need to track down.

Has the car been tuned? Was it tuned around the header leak? I'm starting to think that my car was tuned around my header leak - every time I tighten it the car gets a lean spike off idle that causes a major stumble. To get the car running right I have to create a header leak until retuned.

I pm'd you my number - call me, I ran into much of the problem you have now.
