I have lost 2 tenths, and 3 mph, my 60ft time is consistent. I am loosing the a tenth between 1st and 2nd gear and another between 2nd and 3rd. I have been told it is probably my converter giving up. Does this sound right?
If you haven't made any tuning changes it could be the converter, or the motor my be trying to spin a bearing. I would check the engine first, and don't bother trying to check the oil thinking you could see metal in the drain pan or dipstick if it was a bearing. I just recently ran into this problem and the oil was as clean as if it was just changed. Removed the pan and found a loose rod with a small amount of metal floating around. I was lucky I caught it in time. By the time you can easily see metal in the oil, it is too late. Major damage has occurred.
