Car needs an engine. Thinking of either a Fordstrokers.com 408w or doing a lsX swap. I would want something like a 6.0l engine prefer ls3 heads, because I know how much better they are.

What setups did some of you run, and how much did it end up costing?

Ls ftw. get that 6.0 short block and do an ls3 top end. ls3 heads flow 330 cfm's right out of the box, $600 for the pair brand new. Cam headers and a tune......and you have a solid dependable car

The cost depends on the drive train you choose

AJE K-member with mounts is $360.00
Trans Crossmember $160.00 or you can build one for less that $30.00 if you can weld
Kooks headers $660.00
Aftermarket wiring harness $460.00
Drive shaft $200 - $300
Fuel system $200 -$500 depending if you are working on a budget or just want the nice stuff

I have my car posted on LS1Tech in the texas section, I would post the pictures but corral will not let me post pictures yet

wtf! what do you need a carb for? if you have some knowledge of how electronics work, you can make the stock harness work for less that $10. All you do is modify harness, use the stock pcm, and run it. No need for msd anything. Now if you have half a brain and can weld, you can get a pair of long tube 351 headers and make them work. Before i went turbo, i ran a pair of 351 headers that cost me a total of $200 with 3" v band flanges. So yeah, ill take that ls motor that makes 350 hp with exhaust and tune over that 1960's sbf technology.:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

900hp on a stock 5.3 long block is pretty good if you ask me

ive talked to the guys who built this car because i planned on doing this to my monte carlo sometime in the future

the car has an Lm7 iron truck motor in it. with an ls6 cam and valvesprings. and on 18psi with an mp70 turbo made around 900hp.

this car has made dozens of passes in the mid-9's

and on pump gas still runs mid 10's

dont be a dip chit, there is nothing fancy about the ls series motor, in fact its still 1960 tech, come on hell its still a push rod motor with center cam, ford seen the future and went with the mod motors and over heads cams, and are way more advanced , ls series are mean cause they have some nice heads on all of them,Cleveland head nearly flow that and are 40 years old
