I just bought a new turbo kit and I was under the impression that it was a pt88 but when I looked at the compressor housing today on the back side it is stamped cch4788. I am new to turbos so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Sounds like a PT4788. A PT 4788 is the same physical size as a PT88 but uses the compressor and turbine wheels from a GT4788.

Depending on what you paid, you may have gotten a deal. The PT4788 is around 1900, the PT88 is around 1500.

If it has a T4 flange it is the PT4788, if it has a T6 flange then it could be a GT4788. There is also a 30 lb weight difference and they don't even look similar.

If you posted a picture I could tell you at a glance.

Just ran the numbers off the housing , it's a pt4788. I traded a novi2k non intercooled kit. For a set of stainless 1 3/4 turbo headers , 2 1/2 crossover , pt4788 turbo , jgs wastegate and jgs blowoff valve and all cold side piping. I also threw the guy a grand. But I think all in all I made out well. Entire kit including the turbo only has 12 1/8 mile passes on it.
