What do you need to know to determine what turbo to get?

What all needs considered before making this decision?

Usually, HP or ET goals, engine displacement and CR, turbo kit design, maybe cam profile, auto or manual, street or strip use, etc. To select a good compressor wheel/housing, you need the parameters to calculate pressure ratio and air flow requirements throughout your rpm range. I haven't found much information on selecting turbines/housings but for the most part you can search on sites like corral or theturboforums.com and find other people with similar engine, hp/et goals and see what worked for them. An easier solution is to call one of the turbo dealers (e.g. Dave at turbodaves.com, bullseyepower.com, or Jose at forcedinductions.com ) and ask them for a recommendation.

Alot of turbo tech has changed since 1988..
Way bigger turbo's can be used now days..
Learn to read turbo maps helps big time..
That book covers all the basics that are universal.

How to read and understand compressor maps
All the math to plot out your engine on a compressor map.
All the math to size hot and cold piping and intercooler
Air flow dynamics, header design, stainless vs. mild, ect ect. ect.

It is a great resource. Highly recommend it.
