OK!!! Im really dissapointed!!! First time to the track in 18 years and I ran slower numbers than I did with the car I had in high school!!

How much better numbers can I expect on slicks?

Due to traction problems, my best number came in starting from second gear, which still spun hard and long when the boost came on.

My 60 foot times out of three were consistant.......consistantly slow (please dont laugh)

2.634 2.675 2.675

mph
101.52 100.44 102.76

1/4 et
14.84 14.81 14.60

Ill be borowing slicks next week......any estimations how much they will help??

wow. that's some god awful 60 ft's you got there!
even a bad launch on slicks should give you a 1.8x 60ft. 8 tenths off the short time will knock well over a second off your 1/4 mile time.

Don't feel bad I was getting 2.4-2.8 60ft times with stock tires. Now I've got MT ET Streets. I hope to see 1.8-2.0 60 ft times.

slicks should give you 1.8-1.9 short time easy, with the trap speeds you posted look for 13.3-13.5 et. @102-103 mph Idrove a friends car few weeks ago ran m/t street et 13.5 at102 all night long with 1.85 short times 83 gt 3.73 gears 5speed aprox. 300 flywheel horsepower 3600 pounds with driver

not a lot, what your losing most of your time before 60 ft mark then going good from there on . how tall are your tires & what is your gear ratio? what rpm are you shifting at ?

OK!!

Better, but not great.

I made a single pass on 10", 26 tall MT slicks.

I lowered the 0-60 to a 1.89.

MPH stayed the same at about 103.

And I ran a 13.80.

But.... Im still spinning the tires hard in first and shifting to second.

I have terrible traction problems right now as well. I have found that my best times have come when I have launched at much lower RPM's to minimize traction loss. Before you laugh at these numbers, I am at 5000ft elevation; trying to launch at higher RPM's, and consequently spinning the tires badly, I have had 2.5-2.8 60ft times, and ET's of around 14.5 @101 mph. When launching from very low RPM's (1300 or less) I leave the line like I am in traffic, but get 2.3 60ft times, and ET's of [email protected] 102mph. My point is, try launching with the slicks at fewer RPM's to mimimize your wheel spin. This may help your 60ft times, as well as your ET's.

Learn how to drive first. You should be able to get those 60's down alot on just normal street tires. My car doesnt make a ton of power but i have managed a 1.9 on street tires.
