well i rev my car to about 2000-3000 and hold it with the spout out and notice that it is alittle off about 2-3 deg compared to just letting it idle and checking it ? i went to the track last night and had my timing at 16 deg then up to 18deg then down to 14deg and the car just didn't respond to the timing change like i had hoped ! it went 108.12mph and i tried all night to get 110mph out of it ! times slips will be in another post for some advice thanks guys !

Somebody correct me if I am wrong, but, when you see people setting the timing at 3000, that is to get it all the way advanced on carb'd motors with vacum advance.

yes thats how you set carb cars with mechanical advance, but one day i just wondered if the timing would move if i reved it up alittle bit and it did so i started setting it that way !
