Just installed vortech, and the instruction say that I may have to burp the cooling system.

Old trick - pull the thermostat, and prop open the valve with an aspirin. That will ensure that even if there is a some air on the intake side of the thermo, enough coolant will trickle through to avoid overheating. The aspirin will disintegrate with no harm - any air will work through the overflow system.

Another way is to jack up the front of the car so the radiator cap is higher than the rest of the system - but there still is the issue of trapped air behind the thermo - use the aspirin if the themo is accessible.

I ended up adding a little too much coolant/water shortly after the Vortech install. With the engine running, while we were trying to work the air pockets out, a buddy of mine had a pretty good idea. He wedged a funnel (with a tight fit) into my coolant filler tube. Eventually the excess worked its way out.

Good luck,
Brian
