Hello everyone,
Any advice to someone trying to get their stock H pipe off? The bolts connecting it to the catback are a cinch; it's the header bolts that are STUCK ON TIGHT! I didn't have any WD40 around, but I doubt it would help THIS much. I was putting everything into my 3/8" ratchet and it would not budge. My friend has an impact wrench, but it's kinda poopy. Any advice??? Should I just take it to an exhaust shop??

Thanks in advance,
Jeff

Took mine off this weekend, don't think it would have happened without an impact. The rear would have been easy even if we didn't use the impact.

I had to chisel mine off on the pass. side. It was PITA. Believe me I am pretty strong and I couldn't get to budge. My impact is weak so... chiseled away

1. Put car on the lift
2. Raise car
3. Spray all 8 bolts with wd-40 or "penetrating" lubricant of choice
4. Do one of following:
a. Have smoke
b. Grab a coke and smile
c. Whatever it is you do for a break i.e. rub one out
5. Return to the car 5-10 minutes later.
6. Take 3/8ths ratchet w/swivel and 18mm socket, turn to the left(counterclockwise).

Should come right off.

Took me 15 minutes to change the pipe.
