Since the last track outing, I learned a few things. Replaced my Bigs Stage 5 950 with a Pro Systems 1000, changed the fuel from 116 to 110. NGK9s to 7s.

1st pass off the trailer (transbrake @ 5100), ~1 tire rotation

60ft: 1.6578
330ft: 4.5789
594ft: 6.5028
1/8: 6.9340
mph: 104.37
1000ft: 8.9679
1/4: 10.6779
mph: 131.56

2nd pass off the footbrake around 2k (dead hook)
60ft: 1.6810
330ft: 4.6029
594ft: 6.5290
1/8: 6.96
mph: 104.19
1000ft: 9.0029
1/4: 10.7280
mph: 130.73

Jetting in the carb was out of the box from Patrick, all I did was set the idle and the floats. If anything, it's a little fat and could be leaned out a jet size or two. I'm happy to have picked up 6.5mph with the carb, fuel and plug change!

I added 2 degrees of timing (from 32 to 34) but it spun off the line and I had to get out of it. Same thing goes for the 100 shot pass I attempted.

I have no doubt there are 2-3 tenths left to shave off, but I wasn't able to get many passes in since it was a race event.

I ordered a fresh set of tires to replace my 10 year old ET Streets and am heading back on the 27th. Hopefully for some nitrous action if I can nail the NA tune down a little more and get the car to hook. I'm hoping I can see a 10.40 @ 132-133 out of it before I spray it. The nitrous converter doesn't seem to be hurting the car as much as I thought, but I still need to get it off the line better.

I'm dying to make a nitrous pass!

props man! get it lined out on the motor. i think there is more in it.

my 89 has a 4800 converter in it and it has ran a best of [email protected] on 26x11.5 et streets with a 1.589 60'. i didnt think it was too bad for a nitrous motor. i think there is a lil tuning left in it.

i took my prosystems 1000hp out of the box and set the idle and floats and have not touched it since. i have never had any problems.

Don't forget, I'm running a glide with a 1.76 1st gear. I'm never going to get it off the line as hard as a 3 speed car on motor the way it's set up.

If I can get it into the 10.40 range around 132-133, it'll be that much better on the jug.

Boy that is funny cause I put on one of Patricks carbs and picked up.27 and 5mph in the 1/8. just with a carb swap. Go figure. Good times, work on your 60ft and you will be in the nines easy.

It'll be interesting to see what a fresh set of tires will do. Seems to be suffering in the 60 ft. mph is great.

Glide in a street car?
My grandmother's nova had a glide in it from the factory. It was a street car with A/C.

I love my glide on the street! Since when do you nail it with a high HP car in first gear on the street? I mean in a 3 speed + car. The glide takes a lot of the hit out of it. If you have a good converter it will run. Maybe not take full advantage that you would with a 3 speed, but it will be consistent and easy on parts.

Yes, I run @ Gimli but have run at Fargo and Brainerd this year.

The only update for any motor action is I added 2 degrees of timing and went 133.5mph with a 10.72 on motor, with the same ####ty mid 1.6 60fts.

I made two nitrous passes on the 100 shot. One 9.94 and one 9.95 @ 142.76 both off the footbrake with really mild launches and mid 1.6 60fts.

I have some major suspension issues to sort out. I'm waiting on some parts from TeamZ to take care of that problem. I'm also changing to a set of 4.10s and adding some Strange adjustable shocks.

Next track day is September 5th for me. I'm hoping to get the traction under control, because the tune certainly is! I added an FJO Wideband/data logger and it really helped figure out wtf the car was doing and when.
