I'm about to build the rearend in my car and was wondering if a 355 gear will be ok? C4 trans 28" tall tires, stock botom end 302, B&G Kit with a 70mm turbo, TW Heads, Street heat intake, Anderson B-31 cam. I have a 373 in the car now, but it deffinatly needs to come out!

Usually the 3.27s are preached. What are your rpms in the 1/4 as it is now? What is your max rpm? I would say 3.55s would be okay but many preach the 3.27s like I said before. Good luck.

I started with a 3.73, C4, 28" tire. Was OK, but definitely annoying for street driving (no overdrive). Went to a 3.55, made a nice improvement on the street, but ended up breaking the input shaft off the Dynamic C4 twice (on the street!). Dynamic said C4 no like heavy car (3400 w/driver), tight converter (3K), turbo (lots of low end torque), and low rear gear. Ended up going to a TH400 with the 3.55 and went 9.teens at 147. Next swapped in a set of 3.27's and picked up a little ET and MPH, plus made the street driving even nicer. I love the 3.27 in there now, but am tempted to try my stock 3.08 just to see what it does.

did you ever get your converter replaced?

Not to hi-jack, but I wanted to ask a related question. My car has 3.55's and I run 17" M/T Street Radials at the track. My first time out, it didn't really mph where I was hoping it would. Some of it was half of 1st gear (AOD) was with no boost. I need to learn how to launch it better to get it into boost quicker. @ 3500 #'s and 420rwhp it went 90mph (1/8th). Would this be any different with 3.27's? I'm guessing that getting the car into boost quicker would increase mph. Are the 3.55's hurting me?
