My car died at a stop light last week. All of a sudden the fuel pump wasnt getting any power.

ok, the fuses were fine, so i replaced the CCRM. BTW, the fans worked fine. I got a new CCRM, installed it last night, and the car was back to normal.

After 5 miles of driving, the car dies again. EEC and fuel pump fuses blown..replace those, the fuel pump is still not coming on.
Bad ccrm again?

whats the deal? will ford cover this in their ccrm/fan/breaker recall?

why is just the fuel pump relay blowing? can i just bypass it?
Thanks,
-Mike

Can you explain to me the function/location/etc of the CCRM? I've heard it mentioned many times but have never (I guess) had any problems with it. The Constant control relay module right?

When it goes out, what symptoms would I expect?

Mikal- I will swap you CCRM's. My fuel pump works great, but my fan wont come on.:D Seriously, let me know what you find out. Where are you getting the CCRM's and how much are they? How did you test yours to find out that was the problem?

The CCRM is located inside the passenger side fender. Best to take the inner fender off to get to it. I bought one a few weeks ago for my 98 Cobra and it cost me $130 from the local Ford dealer.

BTW - It takes longer to get the tire and inner fender off than it does to replace the CCRM.

94-95 ccrms are under the black radiator brace next to the overflow bottle.

i called ford, they only acknowledged that there was a recall to stop burning up the fan motor. I asked him if the CCRM was covered if the fan overheated the wiring?(connected from fan to CCRM)

he said no.

you can get a ccrm from stangparts.com for about 50$, I got mine for 75$ local.

my plug-in/harness melted and wouldnt come out. I had to spend 35$ for one.

My local ford wanted 155$.

The one i have is off a 98. I believe the ccrms are almost all the same. I heard that the v6 ccrms only have a low speed fan, but i dont know if i believe it.

I knew it was my fuel pump becuase i didnt hear it "hum" when the key was on. So started checking the fuses-then the relay(ccrm)-then wiring-then pump.

right now it run fines. what changed from last night? nothing..
its got me spooked.

Mikal,
Try putting your original CCRM back on and don't plug the fan in.
Start and idle but turn off when it gets hot... fuel pump ok?

Good luck. You know my opinion about the fan.

Mikal- Please forgive my novice questions. I have checked the fan fuses. and the fan. Both are fine. Is there any other relay or anything I should check? I get code 563. Did you try pulling any codes?
