Got my new water pump in today.
It had a sticker on it it that said 'Made in China'.
Had I known that before I bought it I would have spent more money on an American made part if you can still do that.
Where is this going to end?

Never, as long as consumers put more value on a low price over high quality.

* Then again, if the country wasn't in a such a depressed economy under this Democrat administration where they've made it more rewarding not to work than have a job, there would be more money out there for consumers to spend on better products. *

Made in China is not an automatic "it's junk" deal anymore. Just like manufacturing facilities here, you get what you pay for. If Ford demands a certain level of quality at a certain price point, the China manufacturer will deliver. The same as a US manufacturer. It's silly to assume it's cheap or subpar simply becasue it's "Made in China".

Have you looked at the wheels on your car lately? They have "China" cast in them. Just a fact of life. Like it or not. Welcome to the global economy/supply chain.

I have no real love for either party. That said, the Republicans have been in control of the Senate and the House for 2 years. Not much has changed. They set domestic policy. Not the Executive branch. All those a-holes should start working on compromises to get stuff done and stop the all or nothing BS games they seem to be enjoying. Why do you think sooooo many people are unhappy with Washington? They don't get anything done.

Guess you haven't heard about Obama's executive orders?

Compromise to a liberal progressive is for the constitutionalists in the GOP to give in to the socialist Democrats on everything they want or be labeled racists, homophobe and other pejoratives. To a progressive, the ends justify the means. Just ask Harry Reed!

I don't want compromise between the parties, I want LESS government involvement in our lives, PERIOD.

Maybe then we could have more American manufacturers provide the consumer those quality products we demand.

If you want a Ford Racing pump, then you want part number M-8501-B50. I've had mine for 11 years, daily driver. Never any trouble out of it.

Fundamentally I agree on having less Gov't involvement in our lives. But the pragmatist in me realizes that without compromise on both sides of the isle, governance doesn't happen and things grind to a halt.

And with that I'll try to stop with the political talk. I don't want to derail this thread anymore than I have.

So....... USA made water pumps? Edelbrock, Flokooler, anyone else?

Is there a thread here listing US made parts so we can support US made parts/companies if possible?

Made in China/mexico/japan isn't an automatic piece of junk and made in America doesn't guarantee quality either.

Think prices are to high look at the American worker wanting more for less, unions and over taxation here in the states.
