:king: After much searching for advice and support, I found the info to rewire my fog lights to work independently of the head lights. I cant believe I almost spent $25 on ebay for a "switch" which I would have had to rewire my current switch and actually take MORE time. Instead I had 2 snips and one splice..Not bad.

It's as easy mod and I like having the fogs on with the high beams Plus you need to clean under that console anyways right? :)

On a coupe:
If you take the red plastic covers off the plugs (switch plug and extra plug for the convertible), you can remove the wires intact. Then take a switched 12V wire from the 'vert plug and replace the 12V lead to the fog light switch. Put the red caps back on and plug it in. No wires cut at all.

Or do as he did ( I'm guessing this is what you did), and cut the 12V lead to the fog light switch, then cut and splice the switched 12V from the 'vert plug to the fog light switch.

I tried to do it the RIGHT way first, but when I grabbed the orange/purple 12v lead from the vert with needled-nosed pliers and tugged from top, it slipped and stripped some of the wire, so I just snipped and tapped it into the now cut red/black lead to the fog light..This is a good way to do it if you do not want to have to take apart the Plastic housings with the red covers.
ANYWAY...Several options here...Good luck!

i just recently bought my car and when i picked it up i noticed that the seatbelt latch was under the console and later on i found out the the fog lights didn't work. i couldn't figure it out until reading a post on here a while ago that said that Ford messed them up when they did the parking brake recall.

my question is how can i fix the foglights? Is it easy or do i need to bring it to Ford, and if so do you think they will do it because i am the second owner of the car?

Does your switch light up when you turn the switch on? If not, they forgot to plug it back in. Just take it out, plug it in, then put in back in. You don't actually take the console all the way out, just loosen it in fornt and back, then pull it up in back to get to the plug.

That's pretty bad if a Ford mechanic managed to leave the fog light switch unplugged AND a seat belt anchor stuck under the console.

I've taken mine in and out 3 times and haven't done either one.

If you replace your standard fog light bulbs (a 893 I think) with a 50watt with no black out (a 885) you'll love the difference. Same price @ Walmart and causes no problems.
JayC, could explain a little more what this is accomplishing and why it looks better. Thanks

I did the same thing when I replaced mine a while back. They are alot brighter. The tip is to keep light from going straight out into other driver's eyes. Since the Cobra fogs are deeply recessed and so low, it all goes on the road.
