I have heard that the foam in the cell will clog the fuel filters and leave you stranded on the side of the road. Why can't I just remove it and try to keep the tank on the full side? Or is there a better place to get fuel cell foam that won't deteriorate? Thanks.

I have had one in my car for 7 years now, and no sign of it coming apart. If you run Metanol it will deteriorate, but gas or E85 is fine.

Ran the foam in my 5 gallon Summit brand cell for 4 months and about 12 passes. Found some blue pieces in my filter. Pulled the foam out last week. I'd take it out for street AND track use -- keep enough fuel in it to forget about it. Sumped tanks work! :idunno:

I think if your not at the track, removing it would be ok. Just remember to put it back in when you go to the track.
