Well, I am running 3.73's in my rear now so I will need to step up to a 28" tire or else I will run out of gear. I just need people's $.02 on what tire I should run. For the street I already have a set of 275-50-15's on my 15x8 draglites. That is basically the widest tire I can put on because of my 3" tail pipes. So, should I go with a 275-60-15 drag radial or a 28x10.5 ET Street. Keep in mind I run a stick car. No idea on launch RPM yet. It will also be mounted on a 15x8, for now anyway.

Do the et streets, I run the 275/60/15's and it is not a consistent tire if you launch hard. I will say that it is more of stable tire once under acceleration than that of a bias ply. My next set of tires will be the ET Streets

27 x 10.50 x 15 Hoosier QTP's. They'll fit your 8" rims better (less cross section/buldge), they'll hook better, and they hold air alot better when run tubeless, and they are almost exactly the same height as the 28 ET streets. I've run all three and the same sizes you listed. QTP's hands down! Price is about the same as the ET streets as well. I run'em at 10 pounds, very consistent and stable at the top end.

The bias plies seem to do better on stick cars because the softer sidewalls are more forgiving and a stick car shocks the tires more than an auto on the launch.
I cut 1.4x-1.5x 60-fts on my 26x11.50-16 ET Streets with a T56.

It all depends on what the purpose of this set of tires will be used for. If it's so you can run it at the track, go with a full slick. If you will drive it to the track and run, ET Streets are DOT legal if you get pulled over. If it will mostly be street driven and you want to play on the street and you are worried about stability then get the MT Radials. You can answer this question yourself if you apply the actual use of the car to the design of the tire. Don't listen to some yahoo who says this or that tire is better because it worked great for their application. No 2 cars will react to the same tire, the same way! There are too many variables between the cars, the track or street, the weather, the driver, the...you get the point.

Oh well, I guess I'm a "yahoo". Just do a search, see what other people think, more than not will recommend the QTP's. I assume you said no to the "slicks" idea because you run a class that requires a DOT tire. If you want'em to run on the street, then good luck with any of the bias ply DOT tires (ET streets, QTP's, whatever). Fine if you've got lots of money, none of those will last long with regular street driving, and can be pretty scary if you get caught out in the rain. One set of tires for double duty will compromise one or the other. Yahoooooooo!

I run my drag radials for street tires as it just blows standard tires off like crazy. I need a DOT tire for the track. I assumed that the ET Streets would be better on a stick car but thought I'd throw the question out there anyway. My only concern is that my last set of ET Streets would absolutely not take a ballance. It was horrible.

I have had ET streets, ET drags and right now I am running BFG Drag radials and not one set has been balanced. The car rides as smooth as silk all the way from 0-130+.
