The 5500 stall would be more with a trans brake...your brakes are only going to hold to about 2800 or so...you could go with some aftermarket brakes like ones from Strange...they will hold.

i know i'm not gonna see 5500 i would think at least 3000 though i mean it does flash about 4100 or so got a friend running a similar set up in a lighter car and his will go 33 or 3400 stock rear brakes

that's why i have trouble seeing why mine won't go atleast 3000

I have a 3500 stall, so far I've gone up to 2800 on the brakes (stock) with no problem and think I can go higher. So I agree with gray86hatch you need better brakes or the ones you have redone.

it's fixed!!!

I fixed my problem turns out the rear brakes were not good enough

here is what we did to fix the prob

went to the local napa store and found a bigger bore set of

wheel cylinders that fit original backing plate

here is the funny part i ordered 79 Pinto wheel cyl

the stock ones were 3/4 bore the Pinto's are 7/8

before the chage the most on the footbrake was 2500

changed cylinders and have seen 3600 on a crappy floor

prob will go 3800 to 4000 on a good track

just thought i would let everyone no incase some others

are having a similar problem

thanks for the replies

Joey
