Question from a non-mechanic:

The SportsCar magazine report on the Solo II nationals reported that Sam Strano in Super Street, after finally finding a jump box that could get his Corvette started, "had to re-program all of the electronics."
As the owner of a '93 Mustang who only has to re-set the radio after I've changed my battery, what sort of electronics have to be re-programmed in a modern car?

I would think Super Street requires a stock tune, in which case there shouldn't be any need to reprogram anything. Unless maybe the Vettes have some sort of programmable mix of "sport" settings (for throttle response, traction control, stability control, damping, etc)?
